ETHIOPIA

Dhoqole Catholic Primary School faces significant challenges with its water supply. The school relies on a spring that serves about 5,000 villagers and their cattle, but the water is often contaminated and inconsistent. This forces individuals to travel long distances or rely on rainfall.

The water rehabilitation project aims to provide clean and safe drinking water, improving health, reducing time spent on water collection, and alleviating water scarcity during the dry season. The project will benefit students, staff, and the local community, with a focus on empowering women and children.

Upon completion, the villagers will have access to clean water, improved health, community development, and a better quality of life. The vision is to create a sustainable and thriving community, addressing both material and spiritual needs.

PROJECT UPDATES

Clean Water Brings Hope to Dhoqolle Catholic Primary School

December 2025

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the spring water rehabilitation project at Dhoqolle Catholic Primary School in Borana, Ethiopia! Thanks to your generous support, students, staff, and the surrounding community now enjoy clean, safe, and sustainable water—a true blessing that brings health and hope.

This project has transformed daily life in remarkable ways. A new Spring Eye and Collection Box now ensure a reliable water supply, while fencing and security measures protect the source from contamination. Contaminated water tanks were replaced, improving health outcomes for everyone. Old pipelines were upgraded to prevent leaks and maintain water purity, and a new community water point was established to serve local families. Rainwater harvesting tanks were installed to provide water during dry seasons, and additional water points now support irrigation for gardening and cultivation.

Through these improvements, access to clean water, hygiene, and health has greatly increased, while promoting conservation and sustainability practices. This achievement is more than infrastructure—it is a testament to faith, generosity, and the power of community.

Thank you for making this possible. Your kindness has brought hope and health to countless lives!
