School’s out, and the kids are home! Summer is the perfect time to slow down and reconnect—not just with each other, but also with our faith. Whether you're traveling, staying home, or juggling summer camps and work, there are simple ways to weave faith into your family's daily life.

Here are a few fun and meaningful ideas to make this a Catholic summer your family will remember:

1. Sunday Mass, No Matter Where You Are

Whether you’re at home or on vacation, make Sunday Mass non-negotiable. Turn it into a family event: dress up a little, go out for pancakes afterward, and talk about the readings during the meal.

2. Saint-of-the-Week Challenge

Each week, pick a new saint to learn about. Watch a short video, read a kid-friendly story, or do a craft. Bonus: Celebrate their feast day with a themed snack or activity!

3. Prayer Time in PJs

Establish a simple daily prayer routine—maybe a morning offering before breakfast or a decade of the Rosary before bed. Keep it relaxed and age-appropriate. Kids love consistency (and cozy traditions).

4. Faith-Based Crafts & DIYs

Make homemade rosaries, decorate prayer jars, or build a small home altar. Pinterest is full of Catholic craft ideas. Let your kids take ownership of a space where your family can pray together.

5. Nature Walks with God

Go hiking, visit a botanical garden, or just walk through the neighborhood. Encourage the kids to notice God’s beauty in nature—and say a quick prayer of thanks together.

6. Vacation Bible School (VBS) or Catholic Camps

If your parish or a nearby one offers VBS, sign the kids up! It’s a great way for them to meet Catholic friends and grow in faith while having fun. There are also awesome Catholic family camps and retreats if you're up for a bigger experience.

7. Catholic Movie Night

Choose a movie with a faith-based theme or saint story, pop popcorn, and cuddle up together. Some great picks: Brother Sun, Sister Moon, The Prince of Egypt, The Way, or The Lion of Judah for younger kids.

8. Serve as a Family

Volunteer at a soup kitchen, visit an elderly neighbor, or help out at church. Let your kids see that faith isn't just about what we say, but what we do—especially when it comes to loving others.

Your family doesn’t need a perfect schedule—just a willing heart.

Choose one of these ideas to try this week and invite your kids to help lead it. Small, faith-filled moments can plant big seeds.

Let’s raise saints together this summer—one popsicle and prayer at a time.
