Plan 2040 is dedicated to helping children and families in need in Cuatro Ciénegas, Mexico. Its work focuses on five essential areas of a child’s development: health, education, family life, economic stability, and spirituality.

The Plan 2040 Guides visit participating families each month to check on the children, understand their needs, and make sure they have the support necessary to grow up healthy and strong.

Many of these families live in rural areas, making regular visits difficult and time-consuming. Reliable transportation is essential for the team to reach their homes, monitor each child’s progress, respond to urgent situations, and ensure that distance does not prevent a family from receiving help.

Catholic World Mission invited donors to help purchase a vehicle so the Plan 2040 Guides could continue accompanying these families consistently and personally.

Helping Plan 2040 Reach Those Most in Need

We are happy to announce that, with the funds generously received from Catholic World Mission donors, a vehicle has been purchased for the Plan 2040 team in Cuatro Cienegas, Mexico. Since its acquisition, the vehicle has become an essential resource for the team’s daily operations, strengthening their commitment to accompany underprivileged families consistently and personally.

To date, the vehicle has supported hundreds of follow-up activities with the children and families participating in Plan 2040, allowing for regular home visits, school follow-ups, health-related interventions, family support meetings, and community events. The team has found it particularly useful for responding to urgent family or health-related crises which require immediate intervention. Having a reliable source of transportation has allowed them to quickly respond to these scenarios and remain close to the vulnerable communities they serve.

CWM donations have ensured that no child or family relying on the service of Plan 2040 is left behind because of transportation limitations. The addition of this vehicle has not merely been an operational improvement, but a vital tool which offers hope, support, and opportunity to those in need.
