Carrying Bethlehem’s Hope Into New Year
Christmas has taken us on a journey.
We traveled the road to Bethlehem with Mary and Joseph. We reflected on the gifts Christ brought into the world. We followed His light into places touched by poverty, hunger, illness, and hardship.
We discovered that Bethlehem is more than a place we remember at Christmas.
It is the beginning of a story that continues today.
As the year comes to a close, we look back with gratitude, and forward with hope. Because through the generosity of people like you, the love born in Bethlehem continues reaching children, families, missionaries, and Catholic communities around the world.

A Journey Beyond Bethlehem
Our Christmas journey began with a simple reminder: the miracle of Christmas did not end in Bethlehem.
Christ came for every nation, every community, and every heart.
During Advent, we walked toward Him with trust. Like Mary and Joseph, we were reminded that faith often means moving forward without knowing every detail of the road ahead.
We reflected on the gifts of Bethlehem: hope, peace, joy, love, faith, and compassion. These gifts still have the power to transform lives when they are shared.
We followed the light of Christ into communities where families face hunger, children lack access to education, and people suffer without clean water or adequate healthcare.
We saw how Bethlehem lives on whenever someone chooses to act with love.
And finally, we remembered that Jesus was born for every heart.
Each reflection brought us back to the same truth: Christmas is not only something we celebrate. It is a mission we are called to continue.
Because of You, Love Became Action
Throughout the year, Catholic World Mission supporters helped transform faith into action.
Because of your generosity:
Hungry children and vulnerable families received nourishing meals.
Communities gained access to clean, safe water.
Children received education, healthcare, and opportunities for a brighter future.
Seminarians and religious sisters continued preparing for lives of service.
Churches and chapels became places of prayer, hope, and community.
Priests, sisters, and missionaries carried Christ to remote and underserved areas.
Families facing poverty and unexpected emergencies received compassionate assistance.
Every act of generosity carried something of Bethlehem into the world.
A meal carried nourishment.
A classroom carried opportunity.
A well carried health and dignity.
A church carried the presence of Christ.
And behind each one was a donor who chose to believe that love could make a difference.
The New Year Brings a New Mission
The end of the Christmas season does not mean the end of our responsibility to carry its message forward.
As we enter a New Year, children will still need food and education. Families will continue searching for clean water, medical care, and sustainable opportunities. Priests and religious sisters will continue serving communities with limited resources. When disasters strike, vulnerable families will need immediate help.
But every new need is also a new opportunity to respond with faith.
A new year gives us another chance to serve.
Another chance to bring hope.
Another chance to remind someone that God has not forgotten them.
Your year-end gift can help Catholic World Mission enter a New Year prepared to respond wherever the need is greatest.
Carry Bethlehem’s Hope Into New Year
The shepherds left Bethlehem praising God and sharing what they had seen. The Magi returned home carrying the memory of their encounter with Christ.
No one who came to Bethlehem remained unchanged.
We are invited to leave the manger in the same way: carrying its hope into our homes, communities, and world.
Before the year comes to an end, we invite you to make one final act of generosity. Your gift can help provide food, clean water, education, healthcare, spiritual formation, and the presence of the Church to communities around the world.
Christmas has brought us to Bethlehem.
Now, together, we can carry Bethlehem’s hope into a new year.
The campaign may be ending, but the story continues.
And you are part of it.
