A Catholic Legacy Giving
His name was Vincent. He was a schoolteacher in Belfast, through the years known as the Troubles, where violence against Catholics was a daily reality. He lived simply, saved carefully, and left no children. With his final act, he gave to Catholic World Mission — trusting that what he had gathered in a lifetime could protect Catholics being persecuted for their faith, in places he would never see.
Honoring these intentions, Vincent's legacy is helping to build a sanctuary for our brothers and sisters under fire in Nigeria.
St. Agnes Catholic Church is now taking shape, standing because a schoolteacher who had watched his faith threatened at home refused to let distance diminish his duty.
Vincent's offering went ahead of him, into a Kingdom already rising.
"For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be."— Matthew 6:21
CWM carries treasures like Vincent's forward. In Haiti, his treasure also continues — as an invigorated partnership with HaitiReach and St. Brendan the Navigator Parish in Cumming, Georgia, one of many communities of faith through which gifts like his continue to nourish.
