In the Book of Deuteronomy, Moses stands before the people and declares: “I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live” (30:19).
This year, through Catholic World Mission, you chose life—and you chose light.
Every gift you sent was a choice—to stand as a beacon with a community in need rather than turn away. To build up the Kingdom of God rather than let despair have the last word. To believe that even in the poorest, darkest corners of the world, God is present and His people matter.
And in that choosing, something remarkable happened: the light you helped kindle transformed you in return.

In Ghana, mothers lying with newborns on hospital floors showed us what perseverance looks like. They didn’t complain. They didn’t lose hope. They simply trusted that their children mattered to God. Your gift brought them beds and proper care, but their dignity in suffering shone a light you won’t forget.

This is how the Kingdom works. Not charity flowing one direction, but mercy flowing both ways. Not helpers and helped, but brothers and sisters seeing Christ’s face in one another’s light.
The collaboration between Catholic World Mission and Regnum Christi allows us to identify authentically Catholic projects led by holy priests and sisters—encounters where the lines blur between who is giving and who is receiving, because everyone is illuminated.
Together, we uplift those living in poverty and transform lives around the world! Including our own.
As this year closes, Moses’ words echo across time: Choose life. Your year-end gift today is another choice for life and for light—for communities we serve, yes, but also for you. Because every act of genuine encounter casts a light that transforms both parties. Every bridge where mercy flows creates mutual blessing.
Will you close out 2025 by choosing to let your light shine once more?
