Feast of the Archangels – September 29
Have you ever wished heaven came with a hotline for help? Good news, it kind of does. Enter...the archangels.
Michael. Gabriel. Raphael. These three heavenly messengers aren’t just figures from stained glass windows or epic Bible stories. They’re real, active, and closer than you think. And with the Feast of the Archangels around the corner on September 29, it’s the perfect time to get to know them, and even better, invite them into your everyday life.
HERE'S A PRACTICAL (and spiritual) GUIDE TO DOING JUST THAT.
Call on St. Michael When Life Feels
Like a Battle

Whether it's a stressful work situation, a tough decision, or just that weird feeling that something’s “off,” St. Michael is your go-to guy. He’s the ultimate spiritual warrior—sword, armor, and all.
How to bring him into your day:
Start your morning with the St. Michael Prayer. It takes 30 seconds, but it packs a punch.
Feeling overwhelmed? Whisper: “St. Michael, defend me today.” It’s short, simple, and powerful.
Put an image or medal of him on your desk, dashboard, or even as your phone background. Let it remind you to stay courageous and trust that you're not fighting alone.
Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel:
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Turn to St. Gabriel When You Need
Direction

St. Gabriel’s name literally means “God is my strength.” He’s the archangel of communication, clarity, and purpose. He brought Mary the ultimate newsflash—so yes, he can definitely help you sort through that mountain of emails or life questions.
How to bring him into your day:
Pray before sending an important message, having a big conversation, or making a decision. Ask: “St. Gabriel, help me speak with wisdom and listen with love.”
Journal your thoughts and ask for Gabriel’s clarity; sometimes he speaks through silence and stillness.
Pray for his intercession if you’re waiting on big news (jobs, school, health, relationships). Gabriel’s in the business of hope.
Prayer to St. Gabriel the Archangel
O blessed Archangel Gabriel, messenger of God’s my stories, we ask for your guidance and clarity. Help us to hear God’s voice and understand His will, to communicate with honesty and love, and to courageously deliver His message to the world. Guide us in moments of doubt and bring us hope. Amen.
Invite St. Raphael When Your Body
or Soul Feels Weary

Raphael is the archangel of healing—body, mind, and spirit. He helped Tobit and Tobiah in the Old Testament and continues to show up in people’s lives with subtle strength and deep comfort.
How to bring him into your day:
Struggling with stress, illness, or anxiety? Pray: “St. Raphael, guide me toward healing and peace.”
Know someone who’s suffering? Ask Raphael to accompany them and their caregivers.
Light a candle or take a short walk in nature, inviting his healing presence to be with you. Raphael’s often felt in the quiet, restorative moments.
Prayer to St. Raphael the Archangel
Glorious Archangel St. Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace. You are a guide of those who journey by land or sea or air, consort of the sick, relief of the suffering, and champion of the poor. Deliver us from all evil, and guide our steps towards salvation and peace. Amen.
You Don’t Have to Be an Expert
You don’t need a theology degree to talk to the archangels. Just start. They’re messengers, which means they’re always listening—and ready to carry your needs straight to God.
As the Feast of the Archangels approaches on September 29, take a few moments to connect with these powerful friends in heaven. Whether you’re fighting a battle, seeking clarity, or needing healing, they’ve got your back.
Heaven isn’t far. Sometimes it’s just a prayer away.
P.S. Want to go deeper? Attend Mass on the Feast of the Archangels, or spend a few minutes that day in quiet prayer. Ask: “What would the Archangels do in my situation?” You might be surprised by the peace that follows.
